Born in 1989, Benoît Gaignard first studied at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Le Mans. In 2011, her curiosity for design led her to work for several months in Eindhoven at the Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe agency. Graduated from EESAB in Rennes in 2013, he then worked with M Design Studio. It is in particular this last experience that allows him today to consider design as a space for research, exchange and experimentation.
Benoît Gaignard is particularly attached and sensitive to the world of craftsmanship and handmade, which values unique and noble materials such as wicker, rattan, walnut and oak. He explores them, tests them, appropriates them, reveals their plastic potential. He thus seizes production processes and crosses them with noble know-how in order to create simple, poetic and functional objects. If he draws his inspiration from his agricultural and rural roots, he also cites François Azambourg, Guillaume Bardet or even Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec among his inspirations.
